According to a CNN report, when Southwest Airlines Flight 1380 experienced an engine failure this week, and oxygen masks dropped, lots of people didn’t know how to use them. That despite hearing before each and every flight to put the mask over your nose and mouth. Many people left out their nose.

CNN suggests that the trend towards more humorous safety demonstrations might be to blame. People are waiting for the next joke, not paying attention to the key points. But I feel like adding the entertainment is the only thing that gets people to pay attention at all.

I recently recorded a video about this. I as using this added entertainment as an example of how to engage an audience. I’m wondering what you think. Are entertaining airline safety videos good or bad?
