Do you want to change your custom YouTube URL? If your YouTube channel has at least 10,000 views and has monetization turned on, you can actually access YouTube Support and ask for a new URL for your channel.

In this video, I’m going to show you how to do it.

How To Change Your Custom YouTube URL

  1. Make sure that monetization is turned on. The first step in order to be able to request for a change in custom YouTube URL is to have monetization turned on for your channel. In order to have that option, your channel needs to have a minimum of at least 10,000 views.
  2. Send an email request. Click on the ‘Help’ button at the bottom of the page, then click on  ‘Email’. Fill out the form with all of your information, and in the “How Can I Help You?” section just type in “I’d like to change my custom URL to youtube.com/yourdesiredURL.”

  3. Check your email within the next 24 hours. After sending out the request, check your email inbox for a confirmation that they have already received your request. They will also send a follow-up email with the instructions on how to change your URL once they have verified that the URL you requested for is still available.

  4. Go to youtube.com/account_advanced. In the follow-up email, click on youtube.com/account_advanced. You’ll then see that you are eligible for a custom URL. Proceed to type in your desired URL then click on “Change URL” to complete the process.

Once you’ve set your new URL, your viewers should be able to access your channel using your new URL. For a short, indefinite period of time, they can still come to your site using your previous one. Awesome, isn’t it?
