So you want to use a clip of a YouTube video in a presentation or perhaps inside one of your videos.

First, a disclaimer. This totally violates YouTube’s terms of service. So they *could* close your account (which is why the embedded videos below is hosted on Vimeo – to protect my YouTube account.) And it’s possibly not legal. But that’s up to you to determine – and to determine the risks (are you are posting an entire video to your Fortune 500 company website or are you using a short clip in a presentation you give in person to a small group of people?) It’s possible that you can claim fair use. But I’m no lawyer.

The process is easy:

  1. Open the video you want to download in YouTube
  2. Copy the video URL
  3. Open the website KeepVid
  4. Paste the video URL into this website
  5. Choose your download quality / format
